NIHOTOUR to train children on housekeeping, salad making, others

The National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) says it will train children between 10 and 16 years on housekeeping, salad making and others through its summer vocational programme.
The director-general of NIHOTOUR, Nura Kangiwa, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Saturday by the institute’s public relations officer, Joesef Karim.
Mr Kangiwa said the programme aimed to make the children more creative, knowledgeable and acquire skills needed for a specific craft or job function.
According to him, children will be trained on housekeeping, salad making and dressing (traditional and continental), juicing, table manners, table setting, and presentation skills.
The director general noted that the programme’s first session would commence from July 17 to 28, while the second season begins from July 31 to August 11 at NIHOTOUR, Abuja campus.
He urged parents to utilise the opportunity by ensuring their wards develop life skills to help grow their careers.
According to him, the programme will help the children to develop practical and relevant skills, which opens doors in the job market.
