Nine senators defect to ADC

The defections were made known during Senate plenary on Thursday.

Nine senators on Thursday dumped their respective parties to join the African Democratic Congress.

The defections were made known during Senate plenary on Thursday.

While some of the senators dumped the Labour Party for the ADC, others quit the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Grand Alliance for the ADC.

From South-East geopolitical region, Senator Tony Nwoye of Anambra North dumped the LP for the ADC, while Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of Abia South defected from the APGA to the ADC. 

Senator Victor Umeh of Anambra Central dumped the LP for the ADC, while Senator Austin Akobundu of Abia Centeal quit the PDP for the ADC.

From North-East and North-West geopolitical regions, Senator Binos Yaroe of Adamawa South moved from the PDP to the ADC, while Senator Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto South dumped the PDP for the ADC. Senator Lawal Usman of Kaduna Central moved from the PDP to the ADC.

Two senators from the North-Central also dumped their respective parties to join the ADC. Senator Ogoshi Onawo of Nasarawa South abandoned the PDP for the ADC, while Senator Ireti Kingibe of the Federal Capital Territory quit the LP for the ADC.
