No need to explain plans; Tinubu should just wave at rallies: Ikedi Ohakim

Mr Ohakim made the remark at a campaign programme by Mr Tinubu in Imo on Thursday.

• November 17, 2022

A former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, should not bother campaigning on his plans for Nigerians, saying his wave of hands suffices as he has already won the “war” ahead of the 2023 presidential race.

Mr Ohakim made the remark at a campaign programme by Mr Tinubu in Imo on Thursday.

“The documents we have all received here today, if you go through it, you can see that the war has already been won,” said Mr Ohakim. “He is a big masquerade that must not stay long at the dancing arena, he just need to come on the stage and wave to us and we all go home.”

The former Imo governor said Mr Tinubu’s visit to Imo, his first campaign shuttle to the South-East since he clinched the APC presidential ticket, is just to “thank” the electorate and not to solicit their votes as he has already won the election slated for February 25, 2023.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has defeated and won the battle, he’s here to just thank our people in advance for the battle he has already won,” Mr Ohakim said.

The Imo event was organised for Mr Tinubu to interface with business leaders in Imo. The APC national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, APC vice presidential candidate Kashim Shettima, Imo State governor Hope Uzodinma and other eminent party members were in attendance.
