The National Orientation Agency has urged Nigerians to shun hate speech and embrace technological innovation to promote peace and sustainable national development.

The Acting State Director of NOA in Yobe State, Muhammad Tikau, made the appeal on Friday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Dazigau, Nangere Local Government Area of the state.

Mr Tikau, represented by the agency’s Public Relations Officer in Yobe State, Sabiu Maikwano, addressed 1,502 participants, including corps members, security personnel, camp officials and journalists.

He delivered lectures on ‘National Core Values in Our Society as Enshrined in the 1999 Constitution (as amended)’ to the audience at the camp.

Mr Tikau stressed the need for national unity, patriotism, dignity of labour and religious tolerance to foster a peaceful and harmonious society.

He encouraged corps members to act as ambassadors of peace and to use technology as a tool for positive transformation and national growth.

Mr Maikwano also warned against hate speech and other social vices, stating they threaten peace and hinder development.

He called for joint efforts to tackle the issues, assuring that NOA would keep engaging youths to promote peace, innovation and responsible citizenship.
