Noah Okafor fires brace as Leeds take down Manchester United

Manchester United suffered a huge top-four setback as Leeds United beat the Red Devils 2-1 at Old Trafford thanks to a brace from Noah Okafor.
After 24 days of zero football action, Leeds United broke Michael Carrick’s record at Old Trafford while piling more pressure on their Champions League qualification hopes.
The game began with Daniel Farke’s side commanding play, taking the lead just five minutes into the game through a well-taken strike from Okafor.
The Whites doubled their lead as a simple effort from Brenden Aaronson allowed Okafor to net a perfect volley from 20 yards out, taking a wicked deflection off Leny Yoro.
After the break and a poor performance from the home side, United were dealt another blow as Lisandro Martínez was sent off for violent conduct after pulling the ponytail of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Casemiro restored hope for Carrick’s side with a brilliantly placed header from an inswinging delivery by Bruno Fernandes.
Leeds came close to making it 3-1 but were denied by United’s backline, with chances from James Justin, Calvert-Lewin and Albert Guðmundsson. The Reds also came close to levelling the game, with chances from Benjamin Šeško, Matheus Cunha, Diogo Dalot and Casemiro.
The victory moved Leeds six points above the relegation zone into 15th, marking their first win at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, the Whites face Wolverhampton Wanderers at home over the weekend.
Manchester United missed a crucial chance in the race for a Champions League spot, with Carrick’s side set to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next.
