North-West youths warn Katsina elders against antagonising Tinubu

The North-West Progressive Youths has cautioned Nigerians against making “misleading comments” about President Bola Tunubu.
The group’s coordinator, Muratala Kaoje, gave the advice while addressing journalists in Sokoto.
Mr Kaoje faulted the Katsina Elders Forum’s comments, asking President Tinubu to reverse some of the administration’s decisions or risk losing the support of the North in the 2027 general election.
He said healthy criticism is a good move in democracy.
However, the group considered it desirable to draw the attention of the forum to concentrate on providing suggestions on ways to solve some lingering challenges bedevilling the country.
“Widespread challenges like killings and destruction of property have adversely affected the citizens’ well-being in the North.
“The level of poverty, security challenges and educational backwardness need elders’ contributions based on their experiences to provide solutions to the challenges.
“Farming activities have been disrupted along with other sectors of human endeavours that almost collapsed due to security challenges,” Mr Kaoje said.
He noted that Mr Tunibu has embarked on measures to end security challenges and rejuvenate economic and social activities in the country.
The group expressed support for Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence and Mr Tinubu’s performance.
