Ongoing road and rail projects in Northern Nigeria will stimulate economic activities and improve trade across the region, says Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, an aide to President Bola Tinubu.

He stated this while addressing members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Kano on Tuesday.

He stated that the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway, the Sokoto-Badagry Highway, and the Kano-Katsina-Maradi rail line would open new trade routes, facilitate the movement of goods, and enhance social interaction across communities.

“These projects are not just about roads and bridges. They are economic corridors that will connect markets, farming clusters, and businesses, creating jobs and boosting productivity,” Mr Abdulaziz said.

He explained that the administration had deliberately sustained inherited projects while also initiating new ones to ensure balanced development nationwide.

According to him, the projects reflect Mr Tinubu’s belief in national integration and sustainable prosperity for Nigerians.
