NPFL: Bendel Insurance skipper apologises to fans over poor performance
Maurice, Captain of Bendel Insurance FC of Benin, has apologised to fans, supporters and the Edo Government over the club’s poor performance in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
In a statement on Thursday in Benin, Maurice said the team was going through a hard time but assured that they would bounce back with a victory in their next game.
“I want to apologise to our teeming fans, supporters, management and the government of Edo about our current position on the NPFL table. We are passing through a hard time. By God’s grace, we are going to win our match on Friday and make the state proud with our supporters and fans.
“You should keep supporting us and by God’s grace, we will put smiles on your faces,” he said.
The Insurance are placed 10th on the log after 23 matches, winning eight matches with eight losses and seven draws.
The Benin side will clash with a relegation-bound Gombe United on Friday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium during a week 24 encounter with the NPFL.
