NPFL: Enyimba hopeful of victory against Ikorodu City on Sunday

Enyimba International FC striker, Junior Lokosa, has said the players are determined to secure three points in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 29 fixture against Ikorodu City on Sunday.
The players gave this assurance during an interview with journalists in Aba on Friday, stating that the three points were crucial to the club’s season ambitions.
Mr Lokosa said, “The trip to Lagos brings mixed emotions. Our next game is against Ikorodu City, and it’s a stadium I know very well. Right now, Ikorodu are in good form, playing in front of their home fans, and the Lagosians are supportive. We are going there to give our all because we know our target and what we are aiming for. It will not be an easy game. I believe, with our last two performances, we are in good form and high spirits. Our fans should support us so we can secure victory.”
Mr Lokosa said the club’s chances of making the top three remain open, and they must start capitalising on opportunities both at home and away.
He said, “As a striker, missing great chances is frustrating, but it’s a gradual process. We are working on it, and I believe we will improve. Playing alongside a legend such as Brown Ideye is an honour. He is an amazing person who helps us correct small mistakes. Yes, I have yet to score, but I know the goals will come. I have not played many games, but that is no excuse. The goals will come.’’
With just 10 games left, Enyimba sit eighth in the table with 41 points, while Ikorodu City are third with 44 points after 28 matches.
