NPFL: Kano Pillars beat Sunshine Stars 1-0

Kano Pillars defeated Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure 1-0 on Wednesday in Abuja in a rescheduled fixture of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
In the matchday 25 fixture played at the main bowl of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, hosts Kano Pillars managed to hang on to their first-half lead to win.
Jerry Iwera opened the scoring in the 19th minute to put his team in the lead.
Sunshine Stars fought back, but they were unable to equalise.
On resumption of the second half, both teams fought hard, but they failed to utilise their goalscoring chances.
Kano Pillars will face Niger Tornadoes in their next match on Saturday, while Sunshine Stars will face Shooting Stars on Sunday on matchday 26.
