Veteran striker, Godwin Obaje, put Rangers ahead in the 20th-minute of play.
The goal rattled the visitors, who responded with beautiful passes and one-on-one combination, causing anxiety in front of Rangers vital area.
Despite the rampaging force from the “solid miners,” Chidiebere Nwobodo doubled the home team’s lead before the half time whistle.
On resumption of the second half, the visitors seized the initiative, dominating Rangers through the midfield but poor marksmanship robbed them of goals.
