NPFL: Sunshine Stars coach laments team’s missed chances against Bayelsa United
Sunshine Stars Head Coach, Kayode Julius, on Sunday rued his side’s missed chances in the 1-1 draw against Bayelsa United.
The Match day 29 of the Nigeria Premier Football League was played at the Ondo State sports complex, Akure.
Baylesa United took the lead in the first half of the game before Sunshine Stars equalised in the second half.
Mr Julius in a post-match interview with journalists said the team was unhappy with the result, saying his players missed many scoring chances.
“We told the players not to underrate the team, because they are good at away games. We used three strikers in the first half and we had lots of chances but we couldn’t utilise them. It’s painful when we drew at home. Bayelsa United never had any clear chance against us, we gave them the cheap goal,” he said.
Mr Julius appealed to fans and supporters of the club to continue supporting and praying for the club’s success.
He said, “We are going to make the fans happy by not losing any game again. We are going to motivate the players psychologically and mentally. We are assuring them that we are not going to go on relegation.’’
The Head Coach of Bayelsa United Diepreye Teibowei, said it was a good game for his side, saying his plan was to win the game.
“We came here to win, but if we could not win at least to get a share of the spoils, which we are happy with. We deserve to win the match, we played well and thank God for the result,” he said.
