The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has decorated about 167 senior officers recently promoted in Katsina command.

Decorating the personnel in Katsina on Tuesday, the commandant, Jamilu Indabawa, charged the newly promoted personnel to be more committed, disciplined, dedicated and incorruptible.

“You must remain disciplined, dedicated and incorruptible in the discharge of your assigned responsibilities,” the commandant charged.

According to him, the unprecedented promotion of many personnel demonstrated the resolve of the commandant general, Ahmed Abubakar-Audi, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the corps.

Mr Indabawa recalled that upon assumption of office, Mr Abubakar-Audi reiterated his commitment to rejig, revamp, restructure and reposition the corps for better performance.

In his goodwill message, the commandant of the College of Peace and Disaster Management Katsina, ACG Babangida Abdullahi, congratulated the promoted officers and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them.

He advised them to consider their promotion as an act of God, “Therefore, you should consider it as a blessing and encouragement to redouble your efforts in promoting safety and security for the people of Katsina and Nigeria as a whole.”

Also, the state commissioner of police, Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, stressed the relevance of esprit-de-corps among the security agencies in the state.

He urged the officers to prepare for more responsibilities and advised them to be fully ready for national posting as the standard in the service.
