The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed no fewer than 2,100 personnel to bolster security across the 23 LGAs in Kaduna ahead of Christmas.

The command’s spokesman, Habeeb Badamasi, made the announcement in a statement issued on Friday in Kaduna.

He said the state commandant, Panam Buba, gave the order to ensure public safety during the festive season.

He said, “This initiative followed the operational order from the Operations Department, approved by the state commandant, and aims to bolster security before, during, and after the Christmas and New Year celebrations.”

He said the commandant has reassured residents that they can safely continue their lawful activities, emphasising the NSCDC’s commitment to protecting lives and property throughout the holiday period.

The commandant warned criminal elements to reconsider their actions, stating that both NSCDC personnel and other security agencies would be strategically deployed to deter crime.

“We are on alert, and those who choose to engage in unlawful activities will face serious consequences,” he affirmed.

“As the festive spirit fills the air, the commandant extended his warm wishes to the Christian community, encouraging them to use this time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas—the birth of Jesus Christ,” he said.

Mr Badamasi said with comprehensive security measures now in place and personnel on duty, the residents can look forward to a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
