The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 505 personnel for the Feb. 3 rerun elections in Bauchi State.

The spokesperson of the corps, DCS Fatima Adamu, stated this in an interview with journalists on Friday in Bauchi.

The Appeal Court ordered for rerun elections in four state assembly constituencies in the state.

The constituencies are Bauchi Central, Zungur/Galambi, Ningi 1 and Madara/Chinade.

Also, INEC, on Thursday, distributed sensitive materials and trained over 200 ad hoc personnel for the exercise

Ms Adamu said the personnel were fully prepared to provide general safety for voters and electoral officers.

She said the corps initiated an operational and deployment plan to prevent violence during the election.

She said the deployment comprised officers and men, tactical commanders and special forces, adding that the personnel had been directed to discharge their duties in accordance with the corps’ operational code.

Ms Adamu urged residents of the state to support the personnel to ensure smooth conduct of the exercise.
