NSCDC strengthens ties with NIS for optimal service delivery in FCT

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command has strengthened ties with the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to enhance optimal service delivery.
A statement by the FCT NSCDC spokesperson, Monica Ojobi, on Thursday said the reinforced partnership kicked off when the FCT comptroller of immigration, Sharifat Ibrahim, paid a courtesy visit to the FCT NSCDC commandant, Olusola Odumosu.
Mr Odumosu said that although the agencies have different statutory roles, both organisations are saddled with the same goal of protecting lives and properties, as well as the territorial borders of the country.
According to him, since both agencies are from the same mother ministry, the Ministry of Interior, inter-agency collaboration will continue to abound.
The commandant urged the comptroller to always avail the command with intelligence information for easy operation.
“We are ready to continue to build upon the existing relationship between the two agencies, and that is why whenever we arrest foreign nationals mining illegally, we hand them over to NIS for profiling to ascertain the authenticity of their visas,” he said.
Earlier, CIS Ibrahim lauded the FCT commandant for the collaboration and support the service had received since his assumption of office.
The FCT NIS boss added that the service had gone digital in every aspect of their services, hence promoting digital gadgets to apply for Nigerian passports conveniently.
She, however, requested that the support and synergy be sustained for better results.
