NSCDC trains 200 FCT personnel on weapon handling

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command, has commenced the training of 200 personnel on basic arms and weapon handling.
This is contained in a statement on Friday in Abuja by the command public relations officer, Monica Ojobi.
Mr Ojobi said that the training which commenced on Friday marked the third batch of officers and men to be trained on proper usage of arms and weapons since the assumption of office of Commandant Olusola Odumosu as the command head.
The spokesperson said that the commandant, while addressing the trainees, stated that the eight weeks training was needed to groom personnel on the necessary skills needed to properly handle weapons when ensuring security in the FCT.
Mr Odumosu charged the trainees to take advantage of the training to bring out the best in themselves in combat readiness and weapon handling.
He reiterated the need for personnel to accomplish the corps’ mandates through proactive efforts such as training and retraining.
He added that this will aid in sharpening their professional acumen needed to put criminals and vandals where they belong.
“Be reminded of our commitment to protect Critical Assets in the FCT, and we must not fail in doing so.
“This training is what you need to fight criminality and to defend yourselves when attacked by criminals in your line of duty,” he charged.
The commandant further advised the personnel to be disciplined, committed and be of good conduct throughout the duration of the training.
Mr Odumosu revealed that there will be rewards for excellent conducts and good shooting skills during their passing-out-parade.
