NYSC urges corps members to embrace entrepreneurial skills

On Tuesday, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) advised its 1,354 corps members in Abia to embrace entrepreneurial skills.
The NYSC director-general of NYSC, Brig-Gen Ibrahim Shuaibu, stated this at the inauguration of this year’s Batch C, Stream 1 orientation course in Abia.
Mr Shuaibu said the corps in the state consisted of 609 males and 745 females, cutting across the country’s six geopolitical zones.
Represented by the NYSC coordinator in Abia, Denise Jingi, Mr Shuaibu congratulated the corps members on completing their academic programmes.
He urged them to avail themselves of the scheme’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.
Mr Shuaibu urged them not to look for white-collar jobs but to equip themselves with entrepreneurial skills.
“Let me use this opportunity to caution you against indulgence in cultism, drug abuse and other social vices,” he said.
