OAU mourns Professor Salawu

He said Mr Salawu would be remembered as a committed administrator through his leadership.

The management of the Obafemi Awolowo University has mourned the death of the Dean, Faculty of Administration, Professor Rafiu Salawu.

Abiodun Olarewaju, the school’s public relations officer, in a statement on Monday, described the loss as a great one to the institution and the Faculty of Administration.

Mr Olarewaju added that, in just barely a year in office as the Dean of the Faculty of Administration, he had positively impacted the lives of both students and colleagues. During his tenure, offices were air-conditioned and fully equipped with solar-powered facilities and surveillance systems.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Adebayo Bamire, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, management, staff and students of the university, also extended his condolences, describing the death as a “painful loss”.

Mr Bamire also said Mr Salawu would be remembered as a committed administrator through his leadership, ensuring the improvement of the faculty’s image through the legacy he left behind.

“May the soul rest in perfect peace,” Mr Olarewaju stated.
