The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, does not like challenges but prefers situations where “food is ready.”

Mr Wike, who spoke during a media chat with journalists in Abuja, said Mr Obi lacked the capacity to confront difficult challenges.

“Peter Obi likes food is ready. Mama put, I don’t want struggling. Look, this country, there are challenges”, Mr Wike said.

Mr Wike recalled his experience in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that he remained in the party despite the challenges he faced.

“Look, I was in the PDP. You saw all the governors, isn’t that correct? I said, ‘I will not leave this party,’” he said.

He stated that leadership was not about financial resources but about the ability to confront challenges.

“Face the challenges you have. Now, what makes you a leader? What makes you a man? Leadership. You remember when I came here as a minister. There is no abuse I did not get,” he said.

According to him, anyone seeking to lead the country must have the capacity to confront challenges.
