OFFICIAL: Manchester United, Real Madrid agree deal for Varane
English side Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign French defender Raphaël Varane from Real Madrid.
The Red Devils disclosed this in a statement on their website on Tuesday.
United did not disclose how much the transfer cost but said Varane’s transfer will be complete upon his medical.
“Manchester United is delighted to announce the club has reached agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of French international defender and World Cup winner, Raphaël Varane, subject to a medical and to player terms being finalised,” the statement reads.
Varane, 28, moved from French side Lens to Real Madrid in 2011. He netted 8 goals for Madrid in 236 appearances.
At the national level, Varane won won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France, playing every minute of the competition.
