Ogun mechanic arrested for stealing car in Lagos
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps operatives have arrested a mechanic for stealing a vehicle.
Dyke Ogbonnaya, the spokesperson for the NSCDC command in Ogun, in a statement on Friday, said the suspect, 27-year-old Abiodun Ajao, allegedly drove the vehicle with number plate Lagos BDG 956-FJ, to Idona, Ijebu Imusin.
The suspect had already started dismembering the vehicle for sale to intending buyers before he was arrested, Mr Ogbonnaya said.
According to Mr Ogbonnaya, the suspect said he was conducting a test drive on the vehicle to ascertain the suitability of the work he did on the vehicle, which was brought to him for repairs.
