The chairman of Kosofe Local Government in Lagos State, Moyosore Ogunlewe, has pledged commitment to dignified elderly care throughout the council area under his healthcare initiative.

Mr Ogunlewe said this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.

He said that the initiative – Moyo Ogunlewe Empowerment Foundation – was designed to address the unique needs and overall well-being of the elderly.

He stated, “The Foundation provides essential medical services to senior citizens across the Kosofe Local Government Area.”

He said that the outreach programme included free medical assessments, diagnoses, and complementary medicines.

According to him, a financial stipend is also provided to support the daily needs of elderly participants.

“We believe that every elderly person deserves respect, care, and support,” he said.

The most recent outreach had 1,887 elderly participants, and it serves across all the 130 community development associations in Kosofe.

A beneficiary, Funke Adeyemi, expressed gratitude, saying, “The medical services and financial support have made a significant difference in our lives.”

Another beneficiary, Wasiu Ajibade, added, “This programme has brought hope and relief to many of us.”
