The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Tijjani Ahmed-Anaje, has pledged support for the implementation of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment project in Kogi.

Mr Ohinoyi gave the assurance when the AGILE team led by the project coordinator, Bello Abdulhakeem, paid him an advocacy visit in Okene.

The ruler said the project was important in improving education and empowerment opportunities for young girls in Kogi.

He commended the initiative, describing it as a transformative step toward enhancing access to quality education, particularly for adolescent girls in Ebiraland and Kogi at large.

Mr Ahmed-Anaje expressed his appreciation for the government’s commitment to addressing challenges that hinder the education and empowerment of young girls, ensuring they have a brighter future.

He urged community members, parents, and stakeholders to embrace the project wholeheartedly.

The Ohinoyi reiterated the need for a collective effort to ensure its success, noting that girls’ education is fundamental to society’s progress.

“The AGILE project is not just a policy; it is a vision for the future of our daughters and our land.

“Education remains the bedrock of development, and no society can truly advance if its girls are left behind. I urge our people to support this initiative fully.

“I assure you that we will take active steps to sensitise other royal fathers across Ebiraland, ensuring the message reaches every corner of the region,” the Ohinoyi said.

Mr Abdulhakeem hailed the ruler’s endorsement, noting that supporting traditional institutions was crucial for the initiative’s success.

The coordinator noted that the project is aimed at removing barriers that prevent adolescent girls from accessing and completing secondary education, especially in rural communities.

Mr Abdulhakeem said, “The role of our royal fathers in community development cannot be overstated.

“With your support, we can accelerate the implementation of AGILE and bring lasting change to the lives of young girls in Kogi.”
