Olubadan charges promoted chiefs on loyalty to Ibadan cause

The Olubadàn of Ibadanland, Oba Olalekan Balogun, has urged the newly promoted chiefs in Ibadanland to be loyal to the Ibadan cause, irrespective of their beliefs.
Oba Balogun gave the advice on Friday, during the elevation of nine of the Chiefs at his Aliiwo dynasty’ palace, Aliiwo compound, Ibadan.
The promoted chiefs are the ones in the ‘Olubadan line’ of the Ibadanland traditional stool.
Oba Balogun noted that the promoted chiefs should use their new positions for the growth of Ibadanland.
“Be more responsible. Also, you are required to be absolutely loyal to the cause of Ibadan.
“Your respective families reposed certain confidence in you by putting you forward as their ambassadors and God has been helping you to climb the ladder.
“You owe your families that put you forward that responsibility to remain patriotic and loyal to Ibadan cause, it is only by doing these that your families would always be proud of you,” Oba Balogun said.
The Ibadan traditional ruler further charged the chiefs to be up and doing in their respective domains for the growth, progress and development of Ibadanland.
Among the promoted Chiefs are Kola Babalola – ‘Abese’; Lekan Alabi – ‘Maye’ and Lateef Oyelade – Ekefa’.
