Ondo: Bandits kill mother, daughter in Akure farm attack

Armed bandits have killed a mother and daughter during a kidnapping at a poultry farm located at Igushi via Ala, Akure North council area on Thursday.
The gunmen, numbering about five, invaded the farm and killed the poultry farm owner and her daughter, who was working with others.
The police spokesman in the state, Abayomi Jimoh, who confirmed the violent attack on Friday in Akure, said two persons were rescued alive.
“The police command in Ondo state strongly condemns the heinous, violent incident at Igushin via Ala, Akure, which led to the tragic loss of two innocent lives.
“While two victims were successfully rescued through a swift and coordinated operation, the command expresses deep sorrow over the unfortunate deaths recorded.
“The command assures the people that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure the security of lives and property while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators,” he said.
Mr Jimoh reiterated the command’s commitment to bring those responsible to justice and urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and useful information.
