Ondo Election: Gov Aiyedatiwa beats Ajayi In Ilaje LGA

Incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has won his Ilaje Local Government Area in Saturday’s governorship election of Ondo state.
Mr Aiyedatiwa, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), scored 24,474 votes to beat his closest rival in the exercise, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 3,632 votes.
According to the results of the governorship election, Mr Aiyedatiwa is winning in a landslide victory, with the figures emerging from the LGAs of the state.
Olayemi Akinwunmi, the INEC Returning Officer for the election and vice-chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja in Kogi State, will soon declare the official results of the election.
The election was contested by 17 political parties, who fielded gubernatorial candidates for the exercise.
But the contest was majorly between Messrs Aiyedatiwa and Ajayi.
Both men were former deputies to the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who died last year after a protracted prostrate cancer.
