The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State Command, says it has commenced training for head teachers in school safety and emergency management across the state.

The NSCDC Public Relations Officer, DSC Daniel Aidamenbor, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Akure.

Mr Aidamenbor said that the training started in the southern senatorial district of the state.

He explained that the training was organised by the National Safe School Response Coordinating Centre (NSSRCC) of the NSCDC, in partnership with Galaxy Promotions.

He stated, “About 300 head teachers within the jurisdiction of the southern senatorial district were trained in safe school initiative and school registration on the NSSRCC portal. They were also trained in emergency response management; intelligence and surveillance as tools for school safety; prevention of pupils kidnapping; and mitigating vandalisation of school installations. This training is a significant step towards empowering the school community to imbibe an early warning early response system. It is expected to foster a safer and more serene learning environment in the state.’’
