One killed, 10 others wounded in Texas shooting

At least one person was killed and about 10 others sustained injuries as a shooter opened fire in Midland, a town in central Texas, United States, on Friday.
Midland Police confirmed the shooting in a post on social media on Friday, announcing “the active shooter incident has been resolved, and the suspect is confirmed deceased.”
Authorities said the victims are being treated at Midland Memorial Hospital, with four still in surgery and five currently stable.
Midland Mayor Lori Blong, in a video posted on social media, said “There are 11 victims at this time and at least one is dead at the scene. We don’t have other details to disclosed at this time.”
She added, “At this time, public safety personnel are actively responding, and we ask the public to avoid the area until further notice.”
Kash Patel, U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), said “FBI is on scene and deployed Special Agents and Victim Services personnel to assist the Midland Police Department at the scene of today’s shooting – we will keep the public updated as able.”
