One killed in Yoruba, Hausa clash in Lagos: Police

A riot broke out on Friday morning in the Oke-Ira community of Ogba, Lagos State, after a disagreement led to a physical altercation between Yoruba and Hausa residents.
The circumstances surrounding the incidents are currently being investigated, says Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
The rioters “used knife to inflict open injury on the chest of one Abiodun Hassan,” Mr Hundeyin told Peoples Gazette, adding that the injured was rushed to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital where “he gave up the ghost.”
Mr Hundeyin added that two suspects, Nura Seyidu and Yusuf Abubakar, were arrested and under investigation to ascertain their roles in the murder and the resulting riot.
The clash disrupted business and vehicular movement in the area for hours while the police patroled to restore calm to the area.
