Opposition can’t unseat Tinubu in 2027; they’re in total disarray: APC Chieftain

Aliyu Bello, the secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) state chairmen’s forum, says it is almost impossible for opposition parties to unseat the ruling party in 2027 as they are in disarray.
Mr Bello, who is also the APC chairman in Nasarawa State, said opposition politicians had failed to present governance plans different from those of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
He spoke in an interview in Lagos on Sunday.
Mr Bello dismissed reports of an emerging opposition coalition, insisting that the parties remained fragmented.
“They (opposition leaders) are not coming together. They are in total disarray. Are they coming together? No.
“They are in disarray. Total disarray. So you can’t tell me they are coming together as far as we are concerned.
“So it is almost impossible for them to unseat President Bola Tinubu; they cannot,” he said.
He stated that even if opposition parties eventually formed an alliance, they would still be unable to defeat the APC without presenting Nigerians with better policy options.
“And even if they come together, can they make it? No. Unless and until they have something better to offer Nigeria, something different from what we have now,” he said.
According to him, no opposition leader has offered a convincing alternative economic agenda to address Nigeria’s current challenges.
Calling for patience with the present administration, the APC chairman said the Tinubu administration inherited long-standing economic problems that will take time to fix.
“If not because of the government of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the economy would have completely collapsed.
“And you cannot tell me that the problem of this country started just in three years,” he said.
Mr Bello expressed confidence that the APC would retain power in 2027.
He said the party remained focused on governance while the opposition struggled to find its feet ahead of 2027.
