Oshoala scores four as Nigeria hammer Equatorial Guinea 9-0

Nigeria have thrashed Equatorial Guinea 9-0 in the 2021 Turkish Women’s Cup.
Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Zambia were invited to the tournament by the Turkish Football Federation.
FC Barcelona star, Asishat Oshoala, was the star of the day after scoring four goals in the humiliating defeat of Equatorial Guinea.
The nine-time African champions rattled the Guinean team with seven goals in the first half with a hat trick from Oshoala and other goals from Onome Ebi, Tony Payne, Adule, and Uchenna Kanu.
The second half began with goal scorers Payne, Kanu, Chuwendu, and Okeke subbed for Gift, Ramat, Esther, and Maryam.
Equatorial Guinea’s keeper, who conceded seven goals in the first half, was subbed in the 63rd minute.
Gift Esther of FC Robo made it 8-0 for the Super Falcons in the 69th minute with only about 20 minutes of normal time to go.
Oshoala then completed her double brace in the 85th minute, making the scoreline an embarrassing 9-0 for the Guineans.
The Super Falcons have now secured three victories while scoring eleven goals, beating Uzbeskitan and CSKA women’s team on 1-0 each.
Ayinde scored the winning goal against Uzbekistan while Oshoala scored against CSKA.
Eight teams are competing in the invitational tournament, currently in its fifth edition.
The new Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum, will hope to use the 10-day tournament to study the team and prepare for the upcoming 2021 AFCON Women’s Cup.
The team are appearing for the first time in the invitational tournament where Ghana and Kenya were invited to the 2020 edition.
The tournament had been won twice by France in 2018 and 2019 successively; Poland in 2017, and Chile won the 2020 edition.
This year’s edition has teams from Ukraine, Serbia, Uzbekistan in the competition.
The final will hold on February 24.
