Osimhen wins Emerging Player of the Year at Globe Soccer Award

The 23-year-old goalscoring sensation becomes the first Nigerian to win a Globe Soccer award.

Super Eagles and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has been named the maiden winner of the Power House Emerging Player of the Year at the 2022 Globe Soccer awards at the Madinat Jumeirah Resort in Dubai, UAE.

Osimhen pipped Barcelona rising stars duo of Gavi and Pedri, Real Madrid sensation Fede Valverde, Bukayo Saka of Arsenal, Bayern Munich protégé and 14 others to the prestigious award.

The finalists in the inaugural category were Osimhen, Gavi and Valverde for the 12th edition of the annual awards ceremony.

The 23-year-old goalscoring sensation becomes the first Nigerian to win a Globe Soccer award.

The organisers of the awards, Globe Soccer took to their verified twitter page to congratulate Osimhen on his latest achievement.

“Congratulations to Victor Osimhen on winning the 2022 ⁣#GlobeSoccer Award for ⁣POWER HORSE EMERGING PLAYER OF THE YEAR,” the tweet read.
