Osun, Borno, Lagos lead as INEC releases week five CVR update

Osun, Borno and Lagos states are taking the lead as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday released an update on the pre-online registration in the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
According to updated statistics released by the commission on its social media platform early Tuesday, the pre-online registration stood at 5,385,060, while physical registration was 764,695 as of September 21.
Of the 5,385,060 online pre-registrations as of week five, a total of 2,799,844 are females, 2,585,216 males, while 3,604,668 are youths aged between 18 and 34, with 1,354,274 being students.
The statistic showed that 114,713 are Persons Living with Disabilities (PWD).
The commission stated, “For the physical registration with 764,695 as the total number of completed registration as at the end of Week 4, the data shows that 418,750 of the figures are female, while 345,945 are male. Also 565,927 of the figures are youth between age 18 and 34, while students are 279,172 and PWD are10,838.’’
A breakdown of the online representation showed that Osun State is leading with 578,904 registrants, representing 10.75 per cent, followed by Borno State with 561,666 registrants representing 10.43 per cent and Lagos State with 530,180 representing 9.85 per cent, the third.
The statistic showed that Enugu State has the list number of online pre-registration with 2,931 representing 0.05 per cent of the total figure, followed by Abia State with 4,608 representing 0.09 per cent and Edo State with 9,670 representing 0.18 per cent.
