Otti praises Nigeria’s armed forces for securing nation

Governor Alex Otti has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their professionalism and steadfast role in preserving democratic governance and protecting the country’s territorial integrity.
Mr Otti made the commendation in Umuahia on Thursday, during the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration.
He also lauded the various security agencies in Abia, saying that their commitment to peace and security had repositioned Abia as one of the safest destinations to live and do business.
The Abia governor also said that the improved security environment had positively impacted the state’s economy, particularly agriculture, with the reopening of farmland that had been previously abandoned due to insecurity.
He assured the security agencies of his administration’s continued support in their efforts to safeguard lives and property across the state.
Mr Otti further paid tribute to the personnel who paid the supreme price while on active service, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the welfare of their families, including educational support for their children.
He urged Nigerians to reject violence and extremism, saying that dialogue, tolerance, and mutual respect remained the foundation of national unity.
The governor said that Nigerians must learn from history and work together as one people, pointing out that what unites the nation is far stronger than its differences.
