Oyetola urges youths to shun drug abuse

The minister of marine and blue economy, Gboyega Oyetola, has urged youths to shun drug abuse to avoid mental challenges.
Mr Oyetola gave the advice on Monday during his 71st birthday celebration in his country home in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun.
The minister urged youths to dedicate their lives to hard work and the fear of God, saying these virtues could take them to the top.
“To the youths, I want you to be focused and dedicated to your work and fear God, for it is God who elevated me to the position I occupy today.
“I have never deviated from worshipping Him.
“Do not indulge in thuggery because we did not engage in drug abuse before attaining this height.
“So, please stay away from drug abuse, because it will only lead to mental health issues,” he said.
Mr Oyetola said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would emerge victorious in the Aug. 8, 2026, governorship election in the state.
“I thank God for the way things are going with our party, how we have been able to stand in unity.
“I want to encourage us to continue in that way and ensure that peace and unity reign in the party, because that is how we can emerge victorious in 2026,” he said.
