Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, on Wednesday, received Senator Hosea Agboola and members of the PDP, SDP and ADC.

The defectors, drawn from all 33 LGAs, were received by Senator Teslim Folarin, leader of Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Oyo State, Olayide Abas, APC state chairman, and other leaders.

They were formally admitted in Iseyin during the federal constituency tour of Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa and Kajola.

The event featured symbolic admission and calls for unity toward securing victory for President Bola Tinubu and the APC in 2027.

Mr Folarin described the defection as an endorsement of Mr Tinubu’s leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The APC remains the most credible platform for inclusive governance and sustainable national development,” he said.

He assured new members of full integration, saying internal disputes had been resolved ahead of grassroots mobilisation for 2027.

Minister of power, Adebayo Adelabu, described the decision as “timely and courageous”.

He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to peace, unity and collective progress in Oyo State.

Senator Abdulfatai Buhari (APC-Oyo North) said the defections reflected the APC’s growing strength and acceptance among the people.

He added that rising public confidence in the Tinubu administration positions the party for meaningful development statewide.

APC chairman, Abas, assured defectors of equal rights, stressing fairness, discipline and internal democracy.

Speaking for the defectors, Mr Agboola said the decision followed wide consultations.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda and unity within the Oyo APC informed our decision,” Agboola said.

The mobilisation train later moved to Akinyele and Lagelu constituencies to promote unity and Mr Tinubu’s 2027 re-election.

Several APC chieftains, including former deputy governors, lawmakers and party leaders, attended the event.
