Oyo govt begins rehabilitation of four additional inner roads

The Oyo state government says it has begun rehabilitating four additional inner roads in Ibadan.
The chairman of Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA), Busoye Ogunlade, told newsmen in Ibadan on Friday.
According to Mr Ogunlade, the rehabilitation aims to enhance mobility and improve the transportation system within the state capital.
“The road projects cover Bashorun-Oluwo-nla; Agbowo UI-Express Road; Eleyele-Water Corporation Road and Zion Plaza-Olusoji Road,” he said.
The OYSROMA boss said the decision to rehabilitate the roads was to make the state capital look more attractive to both local and foreign investors.
He said the rehabilitation works on the four roads were expected to be completed in less than eight weeks.
He further explained that works had commenced on some other township roads across the state, adding that the contractors would move to the remaining ones soon.
He advised commuters plying the affected roads to follow the temporary traffic diversions and cooperate with the ongoing construction efforts.
