Oyo govt launches digital land survey plan registry

The Oyo state government has officially launched the Digital Land Survey Plan Registry to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in land administration.
The Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Akin-Funmilayo Williams, performed the launching at the Office of Surveyor-General, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Mr Williams said the event marks a significant step towards modernising the state’s land management system and improving access to survey records and related services.
He said that the registry was an innovative platform designed to modernise the registration, management, verification, and spatial analysis of survey plans.
The commissioner described the registry as a landmark initiative that reinforces the state’s commitment to digital transformation, transparency, and efficient land administration.
He said that digitising the registry would provide faster, secure, and reliable services to licensed surveyors, land professionals, investors, government agencies, and the public.
Mr Williams said the initiative reflects the Governor Seyi Makinde administration’s commitment to digital transformation and efficient service delivery in land management.
“It will also support evidence-based planning and sustainable development by giving stakeholders access to accurate and reliable geospatial data,” stated Mr Williams.
The commissioner also announced the commencement of training for 40 personnel, who would be offered temporary employment to operate and manage the registry effectively.
