Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), on Saturday, matriculated 9,570 new students during its 27th Matriculation Ceremony.

The Vice-Chancellor (VC), Marietu Tenuche, congratulated the students and assured them of the university’s commitment to quality education.

Ms Tenuche strongly warned the new intake against vices like cultism, rape, and cybercrime, emphasising zero tolerance for indiscipline.

The VC charged parents and guardians with close monitoring of their wards and constantly advising them on the importance of education.

“As parents and guardians, you should support your children, monitor their progress, and encourage them to always stay in their hostels after school hours for safety.

“We don’t want to maintain a peaceful academic environment and atmosphere for academic excellence,” she said.

She disclosed that most of the programmes of the university had obtained full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other professional bodies.

According to her, PAAU has so far recorded academic excellence, sporting success, and infrastructure development.

Ms Tenuche urged the students to utilise the state-of-the-art facilities of the university to showcase their God-given talents.

The VC, however, disclosed that the university was preparing for its 7th combined convocation and celebration of its 25th anniversary of academic excellence.
