Pakistan vaccinates nearly 44 million children in nationwide polio campaign

Pakistan has vaccinated more than 43.9 million children under the age of five, the National Emergency Operations Centre said Monday.
The immunisation drive was conducted from October 13 to 19, covering all provinces and regions of the country, the NEOC said in a statement.
The exercise, the centre said, concludes the fourth nationwide anti-polio campaign of 2025.
The centre said 23.1 million children were vaccinated in eastern Punjab province, 10.5 million in southern Sindh, 6.18 million in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 2.6 million in southwestern Balochistan.
In the federal capital, Islamabad, more than 479,000 children received the polio vaccine, while around 294,000 children were covered in the northern Gilgit-Baltistan region and over 733,000 in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.
