Para Games: Nigeria Amputee Team wallops Benin Republic 11–0

Nigerian amputee football team has defeated Benin Republic 11-0 in the opening match of the 1st West African Para Games in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Friday.
The dominant Nigerian team struck five times in the first half and added six more after the break, sealing an emphatic victory at the mainbowl of the MKO Abiola Sports Arena.
The Nigerian side asserted their superiority right from kick-off, controlling possession throughout and leaving the Benin Republic amputee team struggling to keep up.
The fans at the stadium were thrilled by Nigeria’s performance, cheering the team passionately from start to finish.
Speaking after the match, the coach of the Nigerian team, Gbenga Dosunmu, appreciated the team for the brilliant performance.
Mr Dosunmu said, “The boys are well motivated and that showed in their seriousness and performance today. We are playing Cameroon next. We have played them before in Angola and we won. We are always ready.
“The first West Africa para games is a good idea and it’s a welcome development to the growth of the game in the zone and in Africa.”
The games commenced on Friday and will end on Thursday.
