A school proprietor in Ilorin, Tope Owolabi, has urged parents to guide their children in maintaining good hygiene.

During an interview on Friday, Mr Owolabi expressed concern that many parents were careless about their children’s hygiene, often neglecting basic health practices.

He emphasised that some parents failed to ensure their children’s uniforms were washed regularly, and the issue was only addressed when the school sent the children home.

Mr Owolabi advised parents to ensure their children wash their hands after school, bathe regularly, and keep their uniforms clean.

“Parents must wash food flasks with soap, ensure their children brush their teeth, and stop taking risks with their health,” he said.

Mr Owolabi also warned against condoning untidiness and encouraged parents to instil strong hygiene habits, as these practices shaped their children’s future health and discipline.
