PDP planning to intimidate INEC: Group

The Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo Dynamic Support Group has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to exercise restraint in its desperation to put a gag on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Alhaji Usman Ibrahim, the National Coordinator of the group said this at a news conference on Wednesday in Abuja.
Mr Ibrahim said that the PDP’s target was to intimidate the commission and divert its attention from conducting the March 18 election.
He advised the party to concentrate on gathering evidences to substantiate its case at the tribunal since it alleged that the Feb. 25 election was characterised by malpractice.
Mr Ibrahim added that the PDP protest in Abuja does not in any way portray it and its members as true democrats.
“The act portrayed the PDP and its members as undemocratic forces bent on thwarting the remaining elections thus trying to jeopardise the hard-earned democratic process because it lost the election.
“Interestingly, Tinubu’s election as the 6th democratically elected president of Nigeria has come to stay for the next four years and by the special grace of the Almighty God a second term of four years,” he said.
Mr Ibrahim commended President Muhammadu Buhari for fulfilling his promise to deliver free, fair and credible elections to Nigerians.
He also congratulated Tinubu, the President-elect, Sen. Kashim Shettima, the Vice-President-elect and Senators and House of Representatives members-elect.
