PDP unveils senatorial candidates in Katsina

The Peoples Democratic Party in Katsina has unveiled its senatorial candidates for the 2027, with a pledge to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The state chairman of the party, Nura Amadi-Kurfi, made the declaration on Wednesday in Katsina during the affirmation of Hamisu Gambo-Danlawan as the PDP senatorial candidate for Katsina Central.
Mr Amadi-Kurfi also announced Aliyu Abdulmumin-Abdullahi as the party’s candidate for Daura senatorial zone, while Nura Khalil emerged as the candidate for Funtua senatorial zone.
He said the PDP remained strong and united across the 34 local government areas of the state, expressing confidence that the party would reclaim power in 2027.
“The PDP is fully prepared to provide purposeful leadership that will address the numerous challenges facing the people of Katsina state and the country at large,” he said.

The chairman assured party supporters that the PDP would prioritise policies aimed at restoring peace, improving education, reviving agriculture and creating employment opportunities for youths and women.
He urged party faithful to remain united and mobilise support at the grassroots ahead of the 2027 elections.
Yakubu Lado-Danmarke, the 2023 PDP governorship candidate, said the party remained committed to rescuing the state from its myriad of challenges.
Mr Lado-Danmarke said that the party have credible candidates with the capacity and experience to provide effective representation and responsive leadership. He called on residents of the state to support the party’s candidates in order to ensure improved welfare, security and economic development.
Mr Gambo-Danlawan thanked the leadership and members of the party for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to work closely with other PDP candidates and stakeholders to ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.
He assured the people of Katsina Central zone of quality representation, saying that issues affecting the wellbeing of the people would remain his top priority if elected.
