Petrol attendant arraigned for stealing

The police in Lagos on Friday arraigned a 24-year-old petrol attendant, Teslim Gbadamosi, in Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for stealing N2,477,000.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on September 26, at about 1:90 p.m., at 7 Express filing station, Mowo, along Badagry expressway, Lagos.
Mr Ekpo alleged that the defendant stole the sum of N2,477,000, the proceeds of the station’s three days of sales, belonging to 7 Express, the complainant.
“He was arrested and handed over to police for prosecution. The offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015,” he said.
The chief magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, granted the defendant bail of ₦1,000,000 with two sureties in the like sum.
He said that one of the sureties must be a community leader with two years’ tax clearance.
Mr Layeni adjourned the case until November 19 for mention.
