PFL: Enyimba midfielder confident of team’s victory over visiting Abia Warriors Sunday

Enyimba International FC midfield dynamo, Kalu Nweke says the club will go all out to defeat visiting Abia Warriors of Umuahia in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 32 fixture on Sunday.
Enyimba FC of Aba will host their Abia Warriors counterparts in an epic derby from 5.30 p.m.
Speaking to journalists in Aba on Saturday, Nweke said the match will be a tough one considering their visitors’ performance in the league and coming from the same state.
He said, ” I must say it is going to be a tough one because Abia Warriors is a team I know too well, I have played there before and they are a decent side. Indeed, our Sunday opponent has been one of the league’s surprise packages this season, churning out gritty performances and staying in touch with the upper half of the table. As you can see, they are doing well this season but that does not mean they are not beatable. It is a derby game and it will be tough, so I expect the fans to believe in us. All hope is not lost both in the league and the Federation Cup, we still have a good chance to make it to the continent and we just have to keep pushing.”
Mr Nweke who has emerged as one of Enyimba’s most influential players since his switch from Umuahia said that, “sentiment has no place in Sunday’s clash.
Beyond tactics and history, what makes this fixture even more compelling is the battle to secure continental ticket.
Sunday’s derby is not just a match; it’s a battle for identity, ambition, and regional supremacy.
It’s a chance to roar loudest once again in the jungle of the NPFL.
Enyimba FC occupies third position with 50 points while Abia Warriors are on Ninth position with 43 points after 31 matches in the NPFL log.
