PHOTOS: Hundreds of civil servants storm Osun state secretariat to celebrate Adeleke’s re-election

Scores of civil servants occupied the main entrance to the Osun State government secretariat on Monday in anticipation of Governor Ademola Adeleke, who was re-elected to serve another four-year term.

The civil servants, joined by members of the Accord Party and supporters, occupied sections of Abere Road along the Osogbo-Gbongan Highway.

The Peoples Gazette observed that the waiting crowd wore branded paraphernalia including caps and vests, and danced to music while expecting the re-elected governor’s arrival.

Security agencies, including traffic enforcement officers, were present to regulate congestion at the scene.
Last Saturday, Mr Adeleke, the incumbent and Accord Party candidate, polled 511,067 votes and emerged victorious in a governorship race contested by 15 political parties.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him the winner in the early hours of Sunday, defeating his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
