Plateau Gov. Mutfwang sacks Lalong’s political appointees

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has sacked the political appointees of the former governor, Simon Lalong.
Mr Mutfwang announced this on Wednesday via his Twitter page.
According to the governor, their disengagement from active government duties with the state is with immediate effect.
“I hereby authorise the immediate dissolution of all Chief Executives, Chairmen, and members of Commissions, Boards, and Parastatals, except for those specified in the Constitution as Statutory Commissions,” he said.
Thanking them for their role in their various offices, he also ordered the immediate transfer of all government properties to respective organisations.
“While recognising their past contributions to the state, the affairs of their office and government properties should be handed over to the most senior directors within their respective organisations with immediate effect,” he added.
The new shake-up in the state’s civil service comes after the governor announced his first three appointments.
Mr Samuel Nanchang Jatau was appointed as the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), while Mr Philemon Dafi and the Attorney General/Commissioner of Justice. Mr Moses Nwan was appointed the executive private secretary to the Governor.
