Poland to receive €450 million EU funding for transport infrastructure
Poland is set to receive €451.5 million ($518 million) from the European Union to develop its rail and maritime infrastructure.
Polish Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak stated that the funding, allocated under the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility 2024 programme, will support four projects in Poland.
The projects include upgrades to the Rail Baltica section and improvements to port access, Mr Klimczak said on the social media platform X.
A key project funded under the programme is Rail Baltica, part of the Trans-European Transport Network, which links Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland.
The project aims to align rail infrastructure with EU standards and enhance connections between the Baltic States and the broader European rail network.
